Announcing Deccan's Next Gen Software!

Auto CAD/RMS Data Updater - available to clients in Aug 2008!

This new and automated enhancement module to CAD Analyst will allow client departments to quickly and automatically update CAD data to their analysis tool, at their own demand. This feature can be exploited to save time in the data update process, and to perform on-demand updates, as required by the client departments.

"With the auto-updater, clients will have the ability to analyze more up-to-date activity and report performance measures near-real time" explained Raj, who expects to have this feature available in Aug 2008. This benefit makes Deccan's strategic tools more sophisticated, simpler to maintain and easier to update.

As one of our clients explained, "Now each time my Chief requests for reports, I can get him the most current analysis of the most recent activity. The auto updater will make our analysis so much more credible and up-to-the-mark".

No other tool in the industry provides the analytical capabilities that CAD Analyst and ADAM provide. And now with the auto update feature, Deccan has scaled newer heights and set the standard high for data processing and decision support tools for Fire and EMS deployment planning.

To learn how the Auto Updater will benefit your department, or for pricing questions, please contact our sales team at sales@deccanintl.com, or by phone at 858-764-8324.

Loudoun County BARB

BARB for the BIG One! An Essential Step Toward Data
Interoperability

Since 9/11, Loudoun County, under the direction of Northern Virginia (NOVA) Fire Departments, has established standards that are now heavily reliant on mutual aid and automatic aid. “If we ever get another incident on the scale of 9/11, or a major natural disaster, or a lot of smaller incidents, we will still know who to send as the closest unit to the calls” stated Mike Carter, Loudoun County’s CAD Analyst, referring to a past experience when multiple major incidents occurred simultaneously at different locations.

Liz Mancuso, CAD Specialist, and Mike Carter initiated this process manually. A few months after the onset of this project, they viewed a demo of Deccan International’s BARB software. “It changed everything!” exclaimed Mike. “We could have manually done something to increase run-card depth but it would not be nearly as accurate or deep as BARB built for us, nor as easy to maintain. It would have been a larger run-card file with even more errors,” explained Mike enunciating the benefits of using Deccan’s BARB, an automated software application, to replace the original manual process.

“BARB allowed us to build deeper run-cards, easily add, change, or delete stations or units, and sanity-check our data"....

"BARB not only met the objectives of region-wide
information sharing and coordination, it far surpassed our expectations,"

An Imminent Solution to Achieving Consistency in Real-time Deployment Operations (Read full article)

“This software will change for the better, the way we do our current move-ups,”

- Kerry Crabtree

The County of Los Angeles Fire Department recently announced the procurement of Deccan International’s LiveMUM (move-up module), to meet their on-going emergency needs and service coverage challenges.

Because of diverse needs and call demands, LA County has continued to use station/unit charts to identify the coverage requirements, requiring the on duty dispatch supervisors responsible to apply operating rules and business practices, deciding the best deployment in real time under critical time frames. This practice was inherently inflexible and susceptible to errors due to the
static charts, and dependency on supervisor expertise. With the new software, LA County anticipates achieving consistency of operating practices across the complete chain of command, from dispatch supervisors all the way to the operations bureau.

Built to incorporate all business rules and operation practices defined by the agency, LiveMUM can seamlessly integrate into the department’s real-time move-up operations. Click here to read more...
